SOZ in Louvle, PARIS at 107 Rivoli & Le Saut du Loup:2008.10

This October, SOZ CORPORATION is pleased to describe their latest event set in Paris in the world-famous Louvre. This event began on October 15th and is specifically in the "Les Arts Decoratifs" (decorative arts museum) to celebrate 150 years of Japanese-French diplomatic relations. CARPENTER BLOCKS BOLD(REMO) were used in the physical realization of this event. During this event period (roughly one month), "Les Arts Decoratifs" has a semi-permanent installation of CARPENTER BLOCK products. 107RIVOLI, (the boutique of "Les Arts Decoratifs") planned the exhibition of Japanese design products to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Japanese-French diplomatic relations. SOZ products are present inside the store and form an integral part of window displays with products like Comme des Garcons fragrance or Yuri Takemura's potteries. Les Arts Decoratifs received a special permission to do an event using SOZ materials outside the Louvre. On the terrace of the luxury restaurant "Le Saut du Loup" - which enjoys a beautiful view of the Louvre, the Louvre's pyramid and the Eiffel tower - sits SOZ BAR. For the first time outside Japan, we built a bar area and seating of CARPENTER BLOCK, in a place which is frequented by both tourists and Parisian people. Unfortunately, a northerly breeze blew on the opening night so there were not a lot of people to enjoy this fine installation. Spirits were not dampened, however, as, in the same vein as the colours of "Le Saut du Loup", the MAXRAY-illuminated bar and surroundings shined in a brilliant red.

The windows decoration was a SOZ - MAXRAY collaboration.

Display Project in Paris 2007:2007.03

We displayed items in the window of 107 rue de Rivoli, a shop in the museum of Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Thus, during a one-month period beginning March 12, SOZ blocks appeared on a main street in Paris. RE:MO appeared as the main item in three shop windows and was displayed in coordination with other items selected by the shop staff. People strolling down the street were treated to a view of novel products appearing in shop windows on rue de Rivoli.
